8th Dec '06   Phoenix-Sahar was asked to dance at a Retirement/60th Birthday Party at the Suprise Pub, Shirley, Croydon. She did an improvisation to George Abdo's Ruh Tum Bi Salama and a Drum Solo [choreography by Colette Dolan].  

16th Dec '06   Phoenix-Sahar and three of Isis Troupe performed a charity event, Refugee Xmas Party, Beckenham, Kent. "Eshe-Nahr and Phoenix's Saaidi Stick dance started off the performance, and a quick costume change brought us all back on the dance floor for 'Warda' and then a Drum Solo. The music was loud and many of the audience joined in. We all danced to Amr Diab pop songs at the end, and we were invited to stay for food [and we never say no to food !] ".

COMIC RELIEF '07   'SPONSORED SHIMMY', organised by Phoenix-Sahar, on Sunday 11th March, Whitgift Centre, Croydon was a fantastic success." A huge thanks to all the bellydancers that came to join in, performing and shimmying. Phoenix-Sahar and Isis started of the event by dancing to Shamandora, followed by   our special performers, Charlotte Desorgher, Eva Green, Amira, Niina and her fab Tribal Girls, Elaine and Turkish Delight. The   total   raised was touching £15,000 and the bucket collection raised an extra £306.31. We couldnt have done this without the expert 'behind scenes' help of Paul, Charlottes husband, who did the music, introduced the dancers and slowly dissapeared behind and mound of bags and coats !!!!".   Photos in   the Gallery.

25th April '07   Phoenix-Sahar gave a talk, demonstration and taster lesson at The W.I. in Wallington, Surrey. Everyone joined in and fun was had by all !!

16th June '07   Phoenix-Sahar and Isis, with their new member Chloe, performed 4 dances at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Sutton. "It was pouring with rain, and we were dancing outside getting soaked, but we loved every minute of it".

17th June '07   Phoenix–Sahar and Isis did a 45min set at the Portland Arts Festival, South Norwood. "We did 9 dances all with costume changes. It was hectic backstage. The audience join in at the end and it was a great atmosphere". Photos in the Gallery.

30th June '07   Phoenix-Sahar and Isis danced at the Waddon Festival on Duppas Hill, Croydon. "This is the second year we have been asked to dance at this event. We were made very welcome".

1st July '07   Phoenix-Sahar danced at the Brixton Hafla, at The Hob Goblin Pub, Brixton, with Amira's group. "We did a dance with finger cymbals [zills]. A great crowd to support us".

7th July '07   Phoenix-Sahar and 2 members of Isis danced at 'Brighton Orient' Open Platform. "We did a Shafeek Choreography to Dinga Dinga by Ruh Fouad".

15th Oct '07   Phoenix-Sahar taught a large group of Girl Guides in Tonbridge, Kent. The evening included some history and background of Bellydancing, some of the basic Bellydance moves and a choreography to 'Hips dont lie' by Shakira. [choreography by Charlotte Desorgher].

18th Oct '07   Phoenix-Sahar and Chloe did a 'mini show' at a warden controlled housing scheme, Charles Dickens House SE25. "We did 7 dances and several quick costume changes. We finished off the afternoon by getting everyone up to join in".

20th Oct '07   Phoenix-Sahar danced a 'Stick' dance at 'Saqarah Hafla' in the Horse Bar, London. "It was a last minute request, as one of the dancers couldn't make it. A lovely, friendly audience and a good evening out".

17th Nov '07   Phoenix, Chloe, Chione and Corrinna danced at the 'Xmas lights Turning On Event' at New Addington, Surrey in the A.C.A   Hall."We all did Entrance with Veils, followed by Chione dancing a Solo to Lili Nhary by Amr Diab, then a Duet with Chloe and Corrinna to Buttons by the Pussycat Dolls, then a Solo by Phoenix ...a Baladi to music by Hossam Ramzy, then a Duet with Phoenix and Chione to Shamandora by Mohamed Mounir, a Fab drum Solo by Chloe and our Finale was all of us to Mezdeke 10". Phew !!

22nd Nov '07   Phoenix taught a group of Girl Guides, and their Mums, in the Croydon area. A Talk and Demonstration, followed by a lesson in the basic Bellydance moves and finished by all Bellydancing to Shakira's Hips Dont Lie [4 times !!]

25th Nov '07   Phoenix danced on the Open Platform at Brighton Orient. She did a Baladi to El Hob Halal by Hossam Ramzy and had a wonderful reception from the audience, including one of her dance mentors Mr Shafeek Ibrahim.

30th Nov '07   Phoenix danced 3 dances at an 18th Birthday Party in a Pub in Croydon, Surrey."It was a fantastic crowd and the 'Birthday Boy' knew nothing about it. He was a good sport and joined in with a hipbelt on, and his shirt off !!!"

1st Dec '07     Phoenix organised a group of 11 Bellydancers [and Husbands] to see Eva Green's Show in Ewell, Surrey. "It was a lovely show, at a great venue. Thank you Eva"

8th Dec '07   Phoenix danced 3 dances at a 21st Birthday party in Thornton Heath, Surrey.The hall was packed, and the 'Birthday Boy' joined in and showed everyone a Fabulous 'Shimmy' !!!

14th Dec '07   Phoenix organised a group of Bellydancers to go to Amira's Xmas Hafla at the Stanley Halls, South Norwood. Phoenix   danced   to a Lebanese pop song, choreographed by the Fab Orit Maftsir. A bit 'off the wall', but good fun.

18th Dec '07  Phoenix did 2 taster classes and mini talk and Slimming World Xmas weigh-in, Selsdon. "They learnt how to do Shimmies, Hipdrops And Figure 8's and how much fun Bellydancing is !!"

19th Jan '08  Phoenix danced with Chione and Jackie, at the 'Amazing Hafla with Aziza and Stars' at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon. "It was a fantastic evening show, the dancers were amazing and the audience, filled to capacity [over 300], were so supportive and enjoyed every minute".

23rd Jan '08  Phoenix gave a talk and demonstration at Slimming World, Pollards Hill, Surrey

16th/17th Feb '08   Phoenix completed a JWAAD Teacher Training Foundation Course...and passed with flying colours!!! Phew!!

1st March '08  Phoenix, and friends, enjoyed an evening's Bellydancing at the Herstmonseux Hafla. "A fab evening"

3rd March '08  Phoenix gave a talk at Weight Watchers in West Wickham, Kent.

29th March '08  Phoenix enjoyed a FANTASTIC SHOW in Littlehampton organised by the wonderful Khaled Mahmoud, called Egyptian Moonlight....too many world-class Dancers to name, but here are a few...Asmahan, Lubna, Mohamed Gazafy, Khaled and Ozgen...WOW.

30th March'08  Phoenix did a morning workshop with Lubna Eman, followed by an afternoon workshop with Asmahan.ht

26th   April '08  Phoenix danced, and did a talk and mini lesson, at the Pavillion, Bedzed, Hackbridge, Surrey. "A lovely evening with over 60 people there...all keen to join in"!!

27th April '08  Phoenix and Chloe organised a 'Dance in a Restaurant' event."We had 8 dancers, Andrea, Debbie, Judy, Mel, Clare, Caroline, Alison and Lea. They all danced beautifully and the audience/diners were very encouraging. We had a 2 course Indian meal and all the trimmings......all this for £15 !!!!!!" The venue was Sitars Indian Restaurant, Portland Road, South Norwood, SE25. "We will be holding another 'Dance in a Restaurant'   on Sun July 27th, so please check out my Future events page". 11th May '08  Phoenix taught a group of willing ladies 'Bellydancing for Fitness' at Bedzed Pavillion, Hackbridge, Surrey. "A very warm day, but everyone joined in, and we did some lovely graceful moves...nothing to hectic !!"h26TH aPRILttp://www.dahlal.com

17th May '08  Phoenix danced at The Bellydancing Show at Stanley Halls, South Norwood, SE25 7pm. She did a Baladi piece to Hossam Ramzy's El Hob Halal. Also her students danced, on the stage, to Hips Dont Lie by Shakira. "They made me feel very proud, they looked fab and gained so much confidence".

21st May '08  Phoenix danced a Drum Solo, and taught a workshop, at Carshalton College at 2.30pm for several shy students !!

23rd May '08  Phoenix, Judy, Corrinna, Clare, Charmaine and friends danced at the Bowls club evening in Wallington, Surrey. "The audience got up and joined in at the end of our mini show"!!

6th June '08  Phoenix, and her bellydancing friends, were invited to dance at a charity evening. It was in aid of Refuge [domestic violence] www.refuge.org.uk at Coulsdon Manor Hotel, Coulsdon Road, Coulsdon. The evening was hosted by Winston McKenzie [former Champion Boxer] and money was raised via an auction of sports memorabilia. "It was a very successful evening." 

14th June '08  Phoenix was invited to dance at Eva Greens Hafla. She danced a Baladi piece [her favorite, at the moment] El Hob Halal by Hossam Ramzy. The other dancers were Ewa Horsfield, Eszter, Nancy, Michelle, Ela, Mel, Nancy's students and, of course, the lovely Eva Green. " It was a very good evening, and a warm atmosphere". 22nd June '08  Phoenix danced, with Isis Bellydance Troupe, and Chione's students [this was their first public performance] at the Portland Arts Festival, South Norwood, on Woodside Green. Chione and Babs did 2 duets [Shamandora by Mohamed Mounir and a Shaabi dance], Chione's students danced to Pussy Cat Dolls 'Buttons' and Warda, and Phoenix did a Drum Solo [choreography by Colette Dolan]. "The sun shone all day and it was a very successful event [its 3rd year]. Chiones's students were FAB !! Well done"

26th June '08  Phoenix went to Planet Egypt. The dancers were Caroline, Valerie Romanin, Bridget Poulter and Banat Al Gharb & Al Amar, Naffy (Nafiseh), Candi, Reshma Rose, Yassmin Farrah (Italy), Viraj from Canada plus TV documentary crew. "We got a small crowd together for this fab evening out"!

29th June '08  Sunday afternoon GRAND HAREM AFTERNOON. A social afternoon with a chance to shop...there was a souk/bazaar selling costumes, hipbelts, veils, sticks, music and dvd's etc, a handmade jewelry stall, a handmade card stall, a masseusse giving massage, a lady doing mini facials, a stall selling Organic soaps and creams, a purfume stall, a Manicurist and a Reflexologist. We also sold a lot of second-hand costumes etc. The Bar was open and there was a full 'Open Platform'. A chance to eat cake, drink, shop, dance and be pampered ....every girls 'Bellydancers' dream !!! "This was a fantastic success. Over 120 Bellydancers bought costumes and were pampered all afternoon. The Open Platform had students dancing for the first time [they were so nervous], as well as more advanced dancers and our visiting Professional Dancer, Lianna 'Chicky' Green, from Eastbourne. We will be holding another Harem Afternoon in the New Year" Photos on the Gallery page.

5th July '08  Phoenix, and her 'Phoenix-Sahar Dance Troupe', danced at the Biggin Hill Festival, Recreation Ground, Biggin Hill. "We danced in the main arena twice....once at 2.10-2.25pm and then at 4.10-4.25pm. We had a lot of support. This was the first time my students have performed in public. They were fantastic !!!!" Photos on the Gallery page.

5th July '08 Evening  7.30-10.45pm  Phoenix danced a Duet, with Chione, at Colettes Hafla, Dulwich Constitutional Club, 32 East Dulwich Grove, London SE22. "We danced Dinga Dinga, with a few alterations, to Shafeeks specially arranged choreography. The evening was a huge success, with a very high standard of Bellydancing, and some beautiful Choreographies and Drum Solos".

27th July '08 7.30-11pm Phoenix and Chloe held another 'Dance in a Restaurant' Event. The Dancers were Debbie, Kathy, Judy, Caroline, Marcia, Barbara, Chione, Sandra and Corrinna. "The event was a complete sell out, the atmosphere was electric and the everyone had a wonderful time. We gave all the Dancers a certificate and orchids [which they weren't expecting]. 31st July '08 Phoenix went to Planet Egypt at the Darbuka Club, London. "There were some lovely Dancers, as usual, on a very hot night. A wonderful performance by Eshta to Faddah by Hossam Ramzy, and 3 dances by the star of the show Catherine Amies. The other Dancers were Anna Chandler, Sarah, Kismet and Tribe of Kismet, Sasha Tremain, Amber Hansen, Melissa Abraham, Akasha, Starsia [all the way from Australia] and, another one of my favorites, Ewa Horsefield".

1st Aug '08 Charlotte Desorgher held a 'Grand Hafla' at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon, Surrey. "The star of the show was Jim Boz, all the way from the USA. It was a wonderful show, including Anne White, Beatrice, Razia, Gwen Booth, the Hipsinc Girls and, of course, Chalotte. Aladdins Cave were there selling their lovely dance wear and hipbelts, DVD's and CD's. It was a very successful evening".

10th Aug '08  Phoenix taught a beginners class at Bedzed Pavillion, Sandmartin Way, Hackbridge, Surrey from 2pm-3pm. "It was lovely to be invited back, we had a good time".

20th Aug '08  Phoenix, Chione and Judy danced, [ a mini show/demonstration of Bellydance styles] at Wavel Court, Streatham, 2pm-4pm. "We danced 9 different dances, stopping half way for food !!. Then the audience joined in, they couldn't wait. They even showed us a few new moves !!!  We had a wonderful time."

28th Aug '08  Phoenix went to Planet Egypt at Darbuka, 182 St Johns Street, London, EC1V with her friends to watch Fereshteh, Charlotte Desorgher, Khalisha, Cate, Dawn and Khalgani, Francy Hadassah and Alex Rees. "It was a lovely evening, with so much to see. The food was really good and we celebrated my good friend Lea's birthday. [She is also a Bellydance teacher in the Redhill, Edenbridge area].

4th Oct '08  A 6 hour Workshop with Serena Ramzy at Dance Attic Studio Fulham SW6 1LY. Technique and full choreography to a track from Hossam's 'Faddah' CD.

16th Oct '08  Girl Guides Demo and Lesson. Phoenix taught a Girl Guides group at Biggin Hill, Kent. She gave a history talk, Bellydance demonstration, and lesson to the girls [and their Mums] 52 altogether !!!

18th Oct '08 CHLOE'S HAFLA/STUDENT SHOW!! This was a Student Show with some Professional guest Dancers including the fabulous MALE Bellydancer Shafeek Ibrahim, Charlotte Desorgher, Phoenix danced a Solo and a Duet [with Chione]. Barbara, Sharon, Judy, Marcia and Caroline also danced. Chloe's Students did 3 dances, and Phoenix's Students danced to a Lebanese pop song called 'Ah'. Everyone did 'Hips dont lie' as a Finale. It was at St Augustine Church Hall, Baring Road, Grove Park [near Bromley] SE12. There was finger food on the tables, a soft drinks bar, a stall selling Hipbelts and a second-hand stall. Tickets SOLD OUT.

21st Nov '08  Phoenix, and Laura, taught a group of Girl Guides, and their Mums, the basics of Bellydancing. They gave a talk about the history of Bellydancing, 2 Dances [1 Classical and 1 Pop] and mini lesson. " We taught them a routine at the end and were made very welcome. We did this for 'Smile' Charity [repairing cleft palettes in children in underdeveloped countries]. The Girl Guides donated their own money. Thank you so much".
